Dart Games: Round the World

Round the world, sometimes called round the clock, is a fun game for all skill levels. The game uses all the numbers on the board, which makes it especially good for beginners who are familiarizing themselves with the board. The object of the game is simple, you need to hit the numbers, 1-20, in sequence before your opponent. Hitting double and triples counts but just a single score. A perfect turn would advance you three numbers.

Round the World Strategies

Not much to this game, accuracy is key here. Since doubles and triples don't count as anything special you should aim for the fat part of the number.

Round the World Variations

Round the World Plus Bull's-eye. You have two options here, you can either make the bull's-eye the first thing you need to hit or the last. Adding the bull's-eye can really change the dynamic of the game, especially for beginners. If playing with the bull's-eye in the beginning, the first person to hit the bull's-eye has a chance to get a serious head start. If playing with bull's-eye at the end, you give the person trailing a better chance to catch up. To really spice things up, there is another variation that adds the bull's-eye to both the beginning and end.

Round the World Doubles or Round the World Triples. These variations can really up the difficulty. With these variations you have to hit either the double or the triple to advance. Both of these variations make for great practice on hitting the doubles or triples.

Continuous Round the World. Same objective as regular round the world but, if you throw a perfect round, all three of your darts hit the correct number, you then get to throw an additional dart. You get to keep on throwing bonus darts until you miss your intended target. It is theoretically possible to win a game without your opponent ever throwing a single dart.

Round the World With Doubles and Triples. Same rules as normal round the world but if you hit the double of the number in play, you get to skip ahead a number (if you are shooting for two and hit double two you advance to four) and if you hit a triple, you get to advance two numbers (from two to five). You cannot skip the final number in play.

Round the World Don't Miss. One of the harder variations, played like normal round the world but if you miss the number in play with all three darts in your turn you go back a number. So, if you are going for seven and miss with all three darts during your turn, you would start the next round on six.
