The Grip: How to Hold a Dart |
There is no right or wrong way to hold a dart; the best way to hold the dart is the one that is the most effective for you. Most people will hold a dart between their thumb and two or three fingers ,holding onto the barrel of the dart firmly. There are, of course, an infinite amount of variations on this and the important thing is to experiment until you find the grip that suits you best. Try holding the dart closer to the point, or farther back from the point, try and alter the firmness of your grip, try changing the amount of fingers you use to hold the dart. The key here is to experiment and try new things; the "natural" way when you first pick up a dart and throw it may be the best way, but you will never know if there is a superior method if you don't try.
